Job summary

GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Scheduling Clerk to coordinate office visits and procedures for patients in Elgin, IL. The role involves handling high call volumes, maintaining physicians’ schedules, and coordinating radiology/lab appointments.

You will register patients, process financial transactions, review visit notes and orders, and ensure accurate charting in the EMR. Some bilingual ability is a plus in this fast-paced medical office environment.

  • Assist with high call volume and maintain physicians’ schedules.
  • Take triage messages for medical staff.
  • View patient visit notes, diagnoses, and physician orders.
  • Assist in patient registration and financial transactions.
  • May schedule radiology or lab and recall appointments.
  • Assist check-in and check-out of patients.
  • Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges daily.
  • File records in EMR and prepare patient charts for scanning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

  • Assist with high call volume
  • Maintain physicians schedules – scheduling office visits and procedures (may be done via phone or face-to-face)
  • Take triage call messages for medical staff
  • View patient visit notes, identifying problems & diagnosis listed and physician orders
  • Assist in patient registration and financial transactions
  • May schedule radiology/lab
  • May include recall scheduling
  • Assist with high call volume
  • Maintain physicians schedules – scheduling office visits and procedures (may be done via phone or face-to-face)

  • No performance or disciplinary actions in last year.
  • Serves as mentor/trainer for new hires in field.
  • Considered as subject-matter expert in areas by peers, management, and physicians.
Performance Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient technical (computer) skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Self-motivated with initiative.
