Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Engineering level SCADA support specialist to design, develop, and deliver SCADA solutions for utility-scale solar and storage projects. Hybrid role with in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR or fully remote, with location details to be discussed.

You will program SCADA servers, review documentation, and collaborate with customers and field personnel. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of SCADA experience, Python, Ignition, and PLC knowledge, plus strong

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of SCADA engineering experience in renewable energy or utility scale projects.
• Proficiency with Python programming.
• Working knowledge of Ignition SCADA platform.
• Relational databases knowledge.
• Familiarity with PLCs (Schweitzer RTAC, Allen-Bradley, GE/Emerson).
• Experience with SCADA networks installation/commissioning (fiber, RS-232/RS-485, Ethernet).
• Industrial protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3, OPC UA/DA.
• Ability to read and develop diagrams and schematics.
• Ability to work with sub-contractors/field personnel.
• Experience with project management/scheduling tools.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute design and development of SCADA components for renewable projects.
• Define and implement product design standards and best practices.
• Review and implement project-specific requirements.
• Prepare device points lists, HMIs, assets, test plans, and checklists.
• Program and commission SCADA servers, data historians, and HMIs.
• Review closeout docs to verify contractual deliverables.
• Provide intermediate technical support for SCADA configurations.
• Coordinate with customers and field technicians for on-site commissioning.
• Maintain a centralized knowledge base and participate in technical discussions.
