Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an SCADA Engineer to design, develop and deliver SOLV SCADA solutions for utility-scale solar, battery storage and high voltage projects nationwide. The position offers hybrid work with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR, or it can be fully remote.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of SCADA engineering experience in renewable energy/industrial or utility-scale PV solar, BESS, or wind; Python proficiency.
• Ignition SCADA platform knowledge.
• Relational databases knowledge and SCADA applications familiarity.
• Familiarity with PLC equipment such as Schweitzer RTAC, Allen Bradley Control/CompactLogix, GE/Emerson RX3i.
• Familiar with SCADA networks installation and commissioning (Fiber Optics, Serial RS).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop SCADA integration components for utility-scale projects.
• Define and implement product design standards with cross-functional teams.
• Review and implements project-specific requirements.
• Create device point lists, HMI assets, commissioning test plans, and checklists.
• Program and commission SCADA servers, data historians, and HMIs.
• Review closeout documentation to verify contractual deliverables.
• Provide intermediate technical support for diverse SCADA configurations.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers and partners.
• Maintain a centralized knowledge base.
• Apply diagnostic utilities to troubleshoot plant monitoring and control systems.
• Coordinate with customers and field technicians for on-site commissioning and installation support.
• Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used by the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support platform development and data integration.
• Provide project status reports and support risk mitigation.
• Promote a culture of NERC compliance and governance in programming and commissioning standards.
• Support SOLV Operations center for project integrations and handoffs.
