Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an experienced SCADA engineer to design, develop, and deliver SCADA solutions for utility-scale solar and battery projects. This role offers hybrid work with in-office presence in San Diego, Bend, or remote options.

You will define standards, support commissioning, and collaborate with customers and field teams to ensure successful project delivery. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in SCADA, familiarity with Ignition, PLC environments, and industrial protocols.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of SCADA engineering experience in renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency with Python programming.
• Experience with Inductive Automation's Ignition SCADA platform.
• Familiar with PLC hardware and environments (RTAC, Control/CompactLogix, RX3i).
• Knowledge of industrial networks and protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA/DA).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop SCADA integration components for utility-scale solar and BESS projects.
• Define and implement design standards and best practices aligned with company goals.
• Review project requirements and ensure compliant deliverables.
• Generate device points lists, HMIs, test plans and commissioning checklists.
• Program and commission SCADA servers, data historians and HMIs.
