Job summary

Sur La Table in Walnut Creek is seeking a Chef Instructor, Savory to lead in-store savory cooking classes, share culinary techniques, and actively drive sales of cookware and tools. You will deliver engaging demonstrations, maintain high service standards, and represent the brand with enthusiasm.

Responsibilities include designing approachable classes, communicating concepts clearly, staying current on products, and helping guests develop cooking skills while promoting repeat visits and loyalty

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• A degree in culinary arts is preferred; however, candidates with extensive culinary experience and demonstrated technical proficiency will be considered in lieu of formal education.
• 1-2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

• Drive class revenue by ensuring high enrollment, positive reviews, and guest return rates.
• Meet class goals with strong guest engagement and sales of culinary products.
• Set up and breakdown of classes including mise en place, prepping ingredients, and cleaning workstations.
• Maintain safety and sanitation, adhere to SOPs and store policies.
