Job summary

Sur La Table in Walnut Creek is seeking a Chef Instructor, Savory to serve as the in-store expert and advocate for savory cooking. You will deliver hands-on classes, share culinary techniques, and support company initiatives with personalized instruction.

You will drive sales of cookware and kitchen tools through engaging demonstrations, maintain food safety standards, and partner with team members to ensure exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old at time of employment.
• Degree in culinary arts preferred or extensive culinary experience accepted in lieu of formal education.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Create memorable in-store culinary experiences that inspire repeat visits.
• Deliver savory cooking classes following recipes and brand standards.
• Explain technical culinary concepts clearly and encouragingly.
• Maintain product knowledge and participate in training to stay current.
