Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Chef Instructor, Savory to lead in-store savory cooking classes and act as the in-store expert for culinary techniques. You will deliver engaging, hands-on instruction that supports company initiatives and drives sales of cookware, cutlery, and kitchen tools.

The role requires strong communication, culinary knowledge, and the ability to create memorable learning experiences for customers, with hours spanning a part-time schedule to fit store demand.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
• Degree in culinary arts preferred; extensive culinary experience may substitute.
• 1–2 years of kitchen operations experience.
• Valid Food Manager Certification.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and delivering exceptional experiences.

Responsibilities

• Represent Sur La Table’s brand through savory cooking classes and in-store experiences.
• Deliver engaging, hands-on savory classes following provided recipes and plans.
• Communicate cooking concepts clearly to guests in a friendly, approachable manner.
• Assist with class setup, breakdown, and inventory management.
• Support sales of cookware and kitchen tools through class participation.
