Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Tax Manager, State and Local Tax to advise clients on SALT implications and to provide pathways for compliant tax planning. The role involves marketing, networking, and business development within the SALT practice, collaborating with Core Tax Partners and Senior Managers to deliver expert guidance.

You will develop strategies, supervise SALT staff, and support engagements from planning through resolution, ensuring adherence to firm standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in business preferred.
• Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation or JD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research complex SALT issues and outline findings with sources.
• Review tax returns and identify significant state tax issues.
• Draft tax memorandums, opinions, and other SALT documentation.
• Represent clients before tax authorities on contested issues.
