Job summary

BDO USA seeks a Tax Senior Manager, State and Local Taxation, to advise clients on SALT implications and tax compliance. You will market, network and develop business within your area of specialization while collaborating with Core Tax Partners and Directors.

The role requires leadership of SALT professionals, deep technical SALT knowledge, and the ability to manage complex engagements and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• Master's degree in Accounting/Taxation or J.D. preferred.
• Eight+ years of SALT/state and local tax experience required.
• Prior experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis required.
• Prior experience with corporate taxation, consolidations and partnerships preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research complex SALT issues and outline the issue with sources.
• Conduct detailed reviews of state tax returns and respond to notices.
• Draft tax memorandums, opinions and other tax documentation.
• Manage tax engagements and supervise SALT staff.
• Represent clients before tax authorities when needed.
• Develop and implement tax strategies and client development.
