Andersen Tax LLC is seeking a Manager for the State & Local Tax (SALT) practice in the United States. The role oversees tax projects, provides innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance for clients from Fortune 500 companies to startups, and leads engagements across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities include business development, collaborating with Federal Tax Compliance Groups, reviewing returns, supporting tax controversy, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant work experience in an accounting firm, with at least 3 years of income tax experience.
• Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field (preferred).
• Advanced credential allowing client representation before the IRS (CPA or JD).
• Self-starter with the initiative to seek opportunities and work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proficient use of technology.

Responsibilities

• Engage in business development activities (e.g., prepare proposals, present in webinars).
• Collaborate with Federal Tax Compliance Groups to ensure a comprehensive multi-jurisdictional tax strategy.
• Review state and local income tax returns.
• Provide tax controversy and audit support.
• Lead consulting engagements and identify client solutions.
• Conduct research to stay current with legislative changes.
• Review memoranda and other client deliverables.
• Prepare and review Nexus Studies.
• Supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate Seniors, Associates, and Interns.
