Job summary

Andersen Tax invites experienced managers to lead State & Local Tax engagements in a dynamic Houston office. You will oversee tax projects, craft multi-jurisdictional planning, and mentor seniors, associates, and interns while driving client solutions across industries.

You will engage in business development, review complex state/local returns, and support tax controversy initiatives, leveraging your CPA/CMI/JD credentials and strong technology skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of accounting firm experience with at least 3 years in income tax.
• Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Advanced credential enabling client representation (CPA, CMI or JD) is required.
• Self-starter capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proficient use of technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and complete tax projects for diverse clients from Fortune 500 to startups.
• Engage in business development activities and proposals.
• Collaborate with Federal Tax Compliance Groups on multi-jurisdictional strategy.
• Review state and local income tax returns and provide tax controversy support.
• Lead consulting engagements and supervise Seniors, Associates, and Interns.
• Stay current with legislative changes and review tax memoranda.
