Job summary

Abbott seeks a Senior Sales Training Leader to set the vision and drive development across the BU. You will partner with regional management to design and deliver field training, workshops, and skill-building initiatives that align with strategic goals.

The role emphasizes talent management, product knowledge, and market insight to empower the sales force to perform at a high level and support rapid entry to new product lines.

Responsibilities

• Set a vision and strategy for BU sales training team with stakeholder buy-in.
• Provide continuous feedback via formal and informal reviews to improve performance.
• Support team with career planning and skill development.
• Lead talent management: recruit, retain and promote high performers.
• Be the expert on product strategy and market knowledge to design quality training.
• Identify and correct deficiencies in product knowledge, selling, and leadership.
• Lead field integration of product strategy with coaching and workshops after training.
• Identify skill needs by region and introduce them to the BU team.
• Be a role model; partner with RSM and DSM/Rep leadership on capabilities.
• Work with RSM to analyze opportunities and develop region-specific trainings.
• Lead on additional projects assigned by training team or RSM.
• Partner with BUDs and HR to identify trends and build development projects.
• Collaborate with BU sales/marketing to create and evaluate learning projects.
• Lead participation in new product/market development for rapid entry.
• Collaborate with BU sales leader to design/deliver field training for launches.
• Measure effectiveness of BU and regional training programs.
• Work with global training to implement local capability programs.
