Job summary

Affirm, Inc. seeks a Senior Sales Engineer Leader to guide and grow a team responsible for technical engagements with merchants.

You will participate in live technical discovery, drive integration discussions, and present solutions alongside the sales team. You will maintain deep knowledge of Affirm’s APIs and integration options, coach engineers on building and testing integrations, and collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Revenue to win new business.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in business or technology.
• 4-6+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
• 3-4 years of people management experience.
• Hands-on experience leading technical customer conversations and advancing deals.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Sales Engineers, setting expectations for technical proficiency, merchant engagement, and performance.
• Actively participate in deals, supporting live technical discovery, integration discussions, and solution presentations.
• Partner with merchant technical and business leaders when leadership is needed.
• Develop deep knowledge of Affirm's products, APIs, and integration options to explain tradeoffs and resolve blockers.
• Build, test, and troubleshoot integrations in sandbox environments and coach the team to do the same.
• Use AI development tools in technical work and coach the team to apply them for prototypes and testing with quality control.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Revenue to design merchant solutions and win new business.
• Translate merchant requirements into actionable product feedback and process improvements.
• Foster a respectful environment with clear feedback and growth opportunities.
