The Sales Development Representative is responsible for creating qualified pipeline for a B2B technology platform, connecting with technical and business stakeholders who manage cloud infrastructure, data systems, cybersecurity, and software delivery workflows. The role combines account research, personalized outreach, and disciplined follow-up across email, phone, and LinkedIn. Success means generating relevant conversations and qualified meetings for account executives in a high-volume, metrics-driven sales environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Research target accounts, buying committees, technology stacks, and business priorities using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and similar tools
- Prospect into technical and executive contacts through phone, email, and LinkedIn sequences tailored to cloud, data, security, and SaaS use cases
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads against defined criteria including business need, technical environment, authority, timing, and potential use case
- Book qualified discovery meetings for account executives and consistently deliver weekly activity, meeting, and pipeline targets
- Maintain accurate lead, contact, activity, and opportunity data in Salesforce or a comparable CRM
- Use Outreach, Salesloft, Gong, and CRM reporting to improve messaging, follow-up timing, conversion rates, and call quality
- Partner with account executives, marketing, and solutions engineers to provide prospect feedback and refine target segments and campaign messaging
What We Are Looking For
- 0-2 years of experience in sales development, business development, customer-facing work, recruiting, hospitality, or another performance-driven environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business and technical audiences
- Comfort with high-volume phone, email, and social outreach in a role measured by activity, meetings, conversion, and pipeline contribution
- Organized and persistent approach to managing follow-up, objections, competing priorities, and detailed CRM documentation
- Working familiarity with Salesforce or another CRM and sales-engagement platforms such as Outreach, Salesloft, or HubSpot
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, communications, marketing, technology, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
- Bonus: Experience selling or supporting cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data platforms, developer tools, or other B2B SaaS products; familiarity with MEDDICC, BANT, or similar qualification frameworks
