Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Sales Associate on the Power & HVAC team in the United States. You will embark on a structured development path to prepare for an Outside Sales Representative role, working with industry experts to gain hands-on experience and relationship-building skills that drive customer success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M-F

Responsibilities

• Begin your training at a local branch, shadowing both sales and operational roles to gain an inside–out understanding of the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Join your peers across North America for a digital onboarding class, designed to sharpen your sales technique and provide a collaborative training environment.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns exposing you to different construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master United Rentals sales tools, CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations including price negotiations, multi-piece rental requests, and service contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and track progress through performance metrics and peer rankings.
• Receive daily feedback from leadership meetings, coaching sessions, and ride-alongs to develop sales strategies.
