Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate for its Fluid Solutions team. You will start in an structured SDP to learn the equipment-rental lifecycle and advance toward an Outside Sales role.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with our products while building essential relationship skills. You’ll train at a branch, participate in North America onboarding, and engage in varied sales activities, with ongoing coaching to accelerate your career.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Shadow sales and operations roles at a local branch to learn the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Participate in a North America onboarding class to sharpen sales techniques.
• Engage in outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master United Rentals sales tools, including CRM, inventory platforms, customer portal, and mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations, including price negotiations and service contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue.
• Participate in local team initiatives and meetings; track progress with metrics and peer rankings.
• Receive daily feedback from leadership, coaching sessions, and ride-alongs to develop sales strategies.
• SDP lasts 4–6 months before promotion to Outside Sales Representative.
