Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate to join our Fluid Solutions team and embark on a structured training path designed to prepare you for a future Outside Sales Representative role.

You’ll shadow sales and operations to gain hands-on experience with our equipment and build relationships that drive customer success. You’ll learn to master our CRM, inventory platforms, and customer portal while engaging in outbound campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M-F.

Responsibilities

• Begin your training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operations to learn the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Join a North American onboarding class to sharpen sales techniques and build a support network.
• Progress through outbound campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master United Rentals sales tools including CRM, inventory management platforms, and mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations involving price negotiations and various rental contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and daily safety and performance activities.
