Job summary

United Rentals is hiring a Sales Associate on our Mobile Storage team. You will start with a structured training path designed to prepare you for a future role as an Outside Sales Representative, shadowing sales and operations to learn the equipment-rental lifecycle.

Initial training will be based in Des Moines, IA, with eventual permanent placement in Cedar Rapids, IA. You must be able to travel/relocate as needed while developing hands-on experience with our CRM and rental processes.<\/p>

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile device skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Training: must live within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch and report on-site M-F.

Responsibilities

• Begin your training at a local branch, shadowing both sales and operational roles.
• Join peers for onboarding and sharpen sales technique.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals.
• Master United Rentals sales tools including CRM and inventory platforms.
• Lead high-level sales conversations including price negotiations and service contracts.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and track progress with performance metrics.
• Receive daily feedback from leadership and ride-alongs to jobsites.
• Timeline to OSR typically 4-6 months depending on market and performance.
• Other duties as assigned
