United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Sales Associate to join our Fluid Solutions team in Indianapolis.

You’ll start in a structured training path to prepare you for an Outside Sales Representative role, gaining hands-on experience with our technical products and building relationships that drive customer success. You’ll learn our sales tools, participate in outbound campaigns, and progress through development milestones while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer-facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Report on-site M-F within reasonable driving distance of assigned branch.

Responsibilities

• Begin training at a local branch, shadowing sales and operations to understand the full equipment-rental lifecycle.
• Join a North American onboarding class to sharpen sales technique and build internal support networks.
• Participate in outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals and customer segments.
• Master United Rentals sales tools, including CRM, inventory management platforms, customer portal and mobile apps.
• Lead high-level sales conversations involving price negotiations and multi-piece rental requests.
• Learn proven sales methodologies to deliver customer solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Participate in local team initiatives and track SDP progress with real-time performance metrics.
• Receive daily feedback from leadership meetings, call coaching, and ride-alongs to local jobsites.
• The average SDP lasts 4-6 months before promotion to OSR, depending on market conditions.
