Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated is seeking a sales associate in Merrillville, IN to drive store sales through exceptional customer service and knowledge of our design process. You will work with clients to develop room designs, present products, and close sales.

Training starts at $16/hour for 2–6 weeks with no commissions, followed by a base pay with uncapped commissions. Typical total earnings range from $45,000 to $65,000+ per year, depending on location and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous selling experience and ability to close a sale strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, build rapport, and positively influence.
• Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive store sales by selling furniture, accessories and services.
• Promote the Design program and assist the Designer to meet sales goals.
• Execute the La‑Z‑Boy selling process and ensure a positive customer experience.
• Develop and apply sales skills from approach to closing and follow-up.
• Maintain knowledge of product lines and promotions.
