Job summary

IES is seeking a Safety Coordinator to implement, administer, and coordinate safety policies and programs across projects. Responsibilities include safety training, audits, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

EMT or higher credentials are strongly preferred and a strong safety culture is required. Candidates should have several years of construction safety experience, OSHA knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• EMT or higher credentials preferred.
• Minimum of three to five years’ experience in construction safety.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.
• Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer
• CHST (Construction Health/Safety Technician) Certification or equivalent preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer knowledge (MS Office)
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to communicate with project stakeholders including management and customers
• Ability to respond to safety emergencies
• Must meet driving standards
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Support IES and Site/Customer safety policies and programs.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with safety procedures.
• Deliver safety training and conduct safety audits/inspections.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate OSHA inspections and maintain safety records.
• Mentor stakeholders to uphold safety culture.
• Collaborate with site management and operations.
