Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Safety Coordinator to implement and coordinate safety policies, trainings, and inspections across projects. The role ensures compliance with IES and site standards, and with Federal and State regulations, while developing health initiatives to prevent incidents and injuries.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED; Associate degree or higher preferred.
• EMT or higher credentials preferred.
• Minimum of 3–5 years experience in construction safety, preferably telecom or electrical.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.
• Knowledge of Confined Space Entry Standards 1926.1200 Subpart AA preferred.
• Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer
• CHST (Construction Health/Safety Technician) certification preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with high level organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with project stakeholders including field personnel, IES management and customer interfaces
• Ability to travel within branch/regional territory
• Must meet driving standards
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Fully support safety policies and ensure compliance with standards.
• Perform safety audits and inspections.
• Lead safety training and presentations.
• Coordinate OSHA inspections and safety reports.
• Conduct root cause analyses for incidents.
• Prepare safety records and reports.
• Deliver new employee orientation and OSHA trainings as required.
• Develop corrective action plans with operations.
• Mentor stakeholders on IES safety culture.
• Coordinate with site management and customers.
