Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Safety Coordinator to implement, administer, and coordinate safety policies and programs across projects, ensuring compliance with IES and customer safety standards. The role includes delivering safety training, conducting inspections, and developing health initiatives.

Ideal candidates have EMT or higher credentials preferred, 3+ years in construction safety, OSHA regulations knowledge, and ability to manage root-cause investigations and produce concise safety

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; higher degree preferred.
• EMT or higher credentials preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction safety.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction.
• Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer status preferred.
• CHST (Construction Health/Safety Technician) Certification or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Fully support IES and Site/Customer safety policies and federal/state standards.
• Ensure implementation and compliance with safety policies within the division/site programs.
• Deliver safety training and required presentations.
• Schedule and perform safety audits/inspections for compliance.
• Oversee confined space entry activities and documentation.
• Identify hazards and develop corrective action plans.
• Develop processes to reduce hazards and incidents.
• Deliver new employee orientation and OSHA 10/30 training.
• Coordinate safety training for management and field personnel.
• Prepare reports on safety audits, investigations, and issues.
• Conduct/root cause investigations on incidents and near misses.
• Use root cause analysis to guide corrective actions.
• Participate in OSHA inspection processes and communicate with stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain safety records and reports.
• Mentor stakeholders to uphold safety culture and coordinate with site management.
