Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Route Trainee in Tampa, FL to train and support daily route operations while preparing to become a Route Service Representative. You’ll participate in a hands-on SCP program, assist with loading/unloading trucks, deliver clean garments, and maintain safety and accuracy on every stop.

This entry-level role emphasizes customer service, reliability, and teamwork, with a Monday–Friday daytime schedule and growth opportunities into a full-time RS R role.

Qualifications

• Driver’s License with a clean driving record and valid license.
• DOT compliance: includes medical exam and regulatory requirements.
• High school diploma, GED, or military service.
• Strong customer service skills; able to work independently while maintaining teamwork.
• Experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery is a plus.
• Tech-savvy; comfortable learning new technologies.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Participate in UniFirst's Service Certificate Program to prepare for an RSR role.
• Assist with loading/unloading route trucks and daily operations.
• Deliver clean garments to customers and collect soiled items.
• Provide route coverage during absences and uphold service standards.
• Operate a company walk-in truck on designated routes with safety in mind.
• Work in both indoor and outdoor settings with energy and attention to detail.
• Contribute to the success of the Service Department and customer relationships.
