Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Route Supervisory position responsible for managing daily driver activities, coaching staff, and maintaining safety and DOT/OSHA compliance. You will organize routes, monitor performance, and handle investigations as needed.

The role requires a valid Class B CDL, ability to travel between offices, and flexible hours including nights/weekends. Prior management and waste industry exposure are a plus.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication are required.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Working knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Knowledge of the local area and ability to read maps.
• Able to work independently, make decisions and resolve problems.
• Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
• Must have valid Class B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers.
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve performance.
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded.
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns).
• Monitor and track employee attendance and all documentation relating to performance management.
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections.
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to service customers per standards.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and property damage claims.
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
