Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling in Dayton, OH is seeking a Route Supervisor to oversee drivers and ensure safe, efficient service for customers. You will coach staff, monitor performance, and manage daily route operations to meet company standards and safety goals.

Qualified candidates should have a valid Class B CDL, knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations, and the ability to read maps. The position may require night/weekend hours and travel between offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Computer skills; working knowledge of Windows applications, Microsoft applications.
• Knowledge of the area with the ability to read maps.
• Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and resolve problems.
• Must have knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
• Ability to drive a truck with manual transmission (a plus).

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers.
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve performance.
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure compliance goals are met.
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns).
• Monitor and track employee attendance and documentation relating to performance.
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections.
• Plan and follow daily route assignments to service customers per standards.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and property damage.
• Fill in during absence of other supervisors or drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
