Job summary

Rumpke Waste and Recycling is seeking a Route Supervisor to oversee a team of drivers, ensuring safe, efficient service and adherence to company standards. You will assist with hiring, training, coaching, and performance monitoring, with a focus on safety and customer service.

Responsibilities include daily driver supervision, route planning, quality control, and incident investigations. Must hold a Class B CDL, DOT medical card, and be prepared for flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a valid Class B CDL.
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or able to obtain prior to hire.
• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
• Must not have any DUI's or OVI's within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers.
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance.
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded.
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns).
• Monitor and track employee attendance and all other required documentation relating to performance management.
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections.
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements.
• Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims.
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
