Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Route Supervisor to lead a team of drivers, ensuring safe, efficient waste collection services. You will supervise daily operations, coach personnel, and enforce safety and DOT/OSHA standards.

Eligible candidates will have a valid Class B CDL, DOT Medical Card, and the ability to travel between offices. The role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; GED preferred.
• Prior management experience is preferred in waste/logistics.
• Must have a valid Class B CDL and DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain prior to hire.
• Must be at least 19 years of age.
• No more than 3 moving violations in 2 years; no DUI/OVI in last 5 years or 2 in last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities and performance of route drivers.
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve performance.
• Monitor safety, quality, and regulatory compliance; meet or exceed goals.
• Run routes as needed due to absences or vehicle issues.
• Track attendance and documentation related to performance management.
• Conduct driver observations and vehicle inspections.
• Plan and assign daily routes to service customers per standards.
• Investigate accidents and property damage claims.
• Fill in for other supervisors or drivers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
