Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Route Supervisor to lead a team of drivers in delivering safe, reliable waste collection services. You will supervise daily operations, train staff, and uphold safety and regulatory standards while coordinating routes and performance metrics.

The role requires a Class B CDL, DOT Medical Card, and strong communication skills. Flexibility for nights/weekends and occasional travel is expected as part of our commitment to service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of truck driving experience preferred.
• Previous management experience is preferred.
• Must have valid Class B CDL and DOT Medical Card.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers.
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance.
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards; ensure compliance goals are met or exceeded.
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns).
• Monitor and track employee attendance and all documentation relating to performance management.
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections.
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to meet standards.
• Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims.
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
