Job summary

Rumpke is a family-owned waste and recycling leader delivering essential services to communities across the region. This Route Supervisor role oversees a team of drivers, supports hiring and coaching, and ensures safety, productivity, and customer service excellence.

The position requires strong communication, DOT/OSHA knowledge, and CDL capability, with a focus on safety and reliability. You will be responsible for daily driver performance, route planning, and ensuring compliance with company

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to lead and develop a team.
Computer skills; working knowledge of Windows applications, Microsoft applications.
Knowledge of the area with the ability to read maps.
Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and resolve problems.
Must have knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
Must have a valid Class B CDL (preferred).

Responsibilities

Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers.
Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance.
Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded.
Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns).
Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards.
Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims.
