Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Route Supervisor to oversee a team of drivers and ensure safe, reliable service to customers in the Kentucky area. This role involves coaching, route planning, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

You will coordinate daily assignments, monitor driver performance, and conduct inspections and investigations as needed. A Class B CDL and DOT Medical Card are required, with flexibility for nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
• Must be able to read maps and navigate routes.
• Must have valid Class B CDL and DOT Medical Card.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns)
• Monitor and track employee attendance and all other required documentation relating to performance management
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements
• Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
