Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Route Supervisor to oversee a team of drivers and ensure safe, reliable service for customers. You will supervise daily activities, coach staff, and collaborate with management to meet safety and performance goals.

This role requires strong communication, leadership, knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations, and the ability to work independently, read maps, and handle stressful situations. A valid Class B CDL and DOT Medical Card are required; night and weekend hours are possible.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Computer skills; working knowledge of Windows applications, Microsoft applications
• Proven customer service skills
• Knowledge of the area with the ability to read maps
• Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and resolve problems
• Must have knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations
• Ability to drive a truck with manual transmission, a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their overall performance
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met or exceeded
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns)
• Monitor and track employee attendance and all other required documentation relating to performance management
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements
• Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
