Job summary

GFL Industries is seeking a Dispatcher to communicate with drivers, enter tickets in proprietary software, and track productivity. You will schedule service, dispatch routes, and resolve issues while coordinating with customer service, sales, and operations teams.

The role requires high school completion and 1–2 years in dispatch or customer service, with strong communication and multitasking abilities, plus proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, and Word. Weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school. Post-secondary courses or diploma asset.
• 1-2 years in a transportation, dispatch or customer service role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer focus.
• Proven ability to multi-task & prioritize tasks.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, Word.
• Advanced skill in software applications and word processing; fast typing.

Responsibilities

• Schedule service and satisfy customer needs for service changes.
• Dispatch calls to routes based on designated route and driver location.
• Perform driver check-ins at day’s end for complete paperwork.
• Distribute, collect and review route sheets for data entry.
• Coordinate with other departments to resolve service issues.
• Interact with customers, customer service, sales, and operations staff.
• Work with routing specialists to optimize routes.
• Field incoming calls/emails from customers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve delivery/pickup problems before escalation.
• Help determine daily driver staffing levels for responsiveness.
