Job summary

NANA Management Services is hiring a Security Officer for the Maniilaq Village Health Clinics area in Kotzebue, AK. The role follows a 1 week on/1 week off rotation and may require on-call hours outside normal shifts.

New hires will complete a ten consecutive day training program in Kotzebue; lodging and transportation are provided for this training. The position emphasizes safety, vigilance, and community protection.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must pass State of Alaska background check and obtain Alaska Guard License ($97).
• Team collaboration with employees, customers, and clients.
• Ability to make on-the-spot decisions with minimal supervision.
• Stand for 8–12 hours per shift.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Safety oriented in a safety sensitive role.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly across facilities and grounds.
• De-escalate situations to ensure safety of employees, customers, and clients.
• Check and secure doors, windows, and other critical areas.
• Report incidents and data per company policies.
• Assist in events setup and clinic preparations.
• Notify supervisors of visitors and security concerns.
• Respond to emergencies to protect life and property.
• Issue and log ID badges as needed.
• Perform routine monitoring of safety systems when required.
• May have other duties assigned by department.
