Job summary

NANA Management Services is hiring a Security Officer for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics in Kotzebue, AK. The role supports health, safety, and security as the top priority, with a 1 week on/1 week off rotation and potential on-call duties outside normal hours.

A ten-day training program in Kotzebue will be provided; lodging and transportation are arranged for new hires. The position has no supervisory responsibilities and may include other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must pass State of Alaska background check and obtain the Alaska Guard License.
• Ability to work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers and clients.
• Make quick, informed decisions with minimal supervision.
• Be on your feet for 8–12 hours per shift.
• Must read, write, understand and speak English.
• Safety-focused and compliant with company and client guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly in various settings.
• De-escalate situations to ensure safety of staff and customers.
• Inspect doors, windows, and other areas to verify security.
• Record data on incidents, property damage, and unusual occurrences per policy.
• Assist in event setups and clinic preparations.
• Notify supervisor of visitors and safety concerns.
• Respond to emergencies to protect lives and property.
• May issue and log ID badges and check safety systems.
