Job summary

NANA Management Services seeks a Security Officer for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas. This role is a 1 week on, 1 week off rotation, local to the NANA Village posting with on-call duties outside normal hours.

New hires undergo a 10-day training in Kotzebue, AK; lodging and transportation are provided. The position requires strong safety awareness and reliable teamwork to protect staff, clients, and property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must pass Alaska background check and pay Alaska Guard License fee of $97.
• Able to cooperate and work as part of a team.
• Make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Stand 8–12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires English reading/writing.
• Must be safety oriented and follow guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas visually, electronically or audibly.
• Maintain safety and compliance.
• De-escalate situations to ensure safety.
• Inspect doors/windows for security.
• Report incidents per policies.
• Assist in event setup and clinic readiness.
• Notify and coordinate with on-site personnel.
• Respond to emergencies to protect life and property.
• Possibly issue and record ID badges.
• May operate safety/life support systems.
