Job summary

NANA Management Services seeks a Security Officer to provide safety for the Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas. The role includes monitoring, de-escalation, access control, and incident reporting.

The position follows a 1 week on / 1 week off rotation and may require on-call work outside normal hours. Training is a ten-day program in Kotzebue, AK with lodging and travel provided for new hires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must pass State of Alaska background check and pay license fee.
• Able to cooperate and work as part of a team.
• Decision-making with minimal supervision.
• Stand 8–12 hours per shift.
• Must read, write and understand English.
• Safety oriented in a safety sensitive role.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines set by company and client.

Responsibilities

• Personally monitors assigned areas using visual or electronic means.
• De-escalates situations to ensure safety of staff and customers.
• Inspects doors, windows, and secure areas.
• Reports property damage and unusual occurrences per policy.
• Assists in events setup and clinic preparations.
• Warns violators and may apprehend or eject.
• Notifies on-site personnel about visitors.
• Responds to emergencies to preserve life and property.
• May operate safety and life support monitoring programs.
• May issue and record ID badges.
• Checks systems (heating, lighting, sprinklers, etc.) for operation.
• May take on additional duties as assigned.
• Notify supervisor if safety or sanitation standards are not met.
• Be available for on-call and after-hours work as scheduled.
• No supervisory responsibilities.
• Other department-specific tasks as needed.
