Job summary

NANA Management Services is seeking a Security Officer to provide security for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas. The role involves a 1 week on, 1 week off rotation, with on-call work outside normal hours.

Training for ten consecutive days in Kotzebue, AK will be provided, including lodging and transportation for new hires. Responsibilities include monitoring areas for safety, de-escalation of incidents, reporting incidents, and assisting with events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to pass Alaska background check and license process.
• Ability to work as part of a team with customers and clients.
• Ability to make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Must be on feet 8–12 hours per shift.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Safety oriented for a safety-sensitive role.
• Compliance with safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Monitors assigned areas or grounds visually, electronically, or audibly in varying locations.
• Ensures safety and compliance in actions and those of others.
• Verbally de-escalates situations to ensure safety of staff and customers.
• Inspects doors, windows, and areas to verify security.
• Reports property damage and incidents per policy.
• Assists in event setup and clinic readiness.
• Warns violators and may apprehend or expel when needed.
• Notifies on-site personnel of visitors.
• Responds to emergencies to preserve life and property.
• May issue and record ID badges and check safety systems.
