Job summary

NANA Management Services is seeking a Security Officer for Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas in Alaska. This rotational role (1 week on/1 week off) may require on-call duties outside normal hours.

A 10-day training program in Kotzebue, AK will be provided with lodging and transportation for new hires. Responsibilities include monitoring venues, de-escalating incidents, securing premises, and reporting data per policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must pass State of Alaska background check and obtain Alaska Guard License fee of $97 prior to starting.
• Must cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
• Must be on your feet for 8–12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must be safety oriented as this is a safety sensitive position.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Responsibilities

• Monitors assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly in various locations.
• Verbal de-escalation to ensure safety of employees, customers, and clients.
• Examines doors, windows, and areas to ensure they are secure.
• Reports and records data per company policies and procedures.
• Assists in setting up for events, moving furniture and preparing clinics for functions.
• Notifies on-site individuals of visitors and assists in emergencies.
