Job summary

NANA Management Services, LLC seeks a Security Officer to provide security for the Maniilaq Village Health Clinics and surrounding areas. The position operates on a 1 week on, 1 week off rotation and may require on-call work outside normal hours.

Training includes a 10-day consecutive program in Kotzebue, AK with lodging and transportation provided for new hires. Responsibilities include monitoring spaces, de-escalation, reporting incidents, events setup, and responding to emergencies to protect

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must pass State of Alaska background check, obtain and pay the Alaska Guard License fee of $97.00 prior to beginning work.
• Must be able to cooperate and work as part of a team with fellow employees, customers, and clients.
• Must be able to make decisions in the moment with little to no supervision.
• Must be able to be on your feet for 8-12 hours per shift.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read, and write English.
• Must be safety oriented as this is a safety sensitive position.
• Must meet and adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations set forth by the company and client.

Responsibilities

• Monitors assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly in various assignments.
• De-escalate situations to ensure safety of employees, customers, and clients.
• Inspect doors, windows and other areas to verify security.
• Report property damage and unusual occurrences per company policy.
• Assist in setting up for events and clinic functions.
• Warn violators of infractions and may apprehend or expel violators.
• Respond to emergencies to preserve life and property, including fire safety and active shooter protocols.
• May issue and record ID badges.
• May check systems (heating, lighting, sprinkling, security, ventilation, fire) for operational status.
• Notify supervisor if safety and sanitation standards are not being met.
• Be available for on-call work outside normal hours.
