Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic I (Sheetmetal/Structures) to repair and replace structural aircraft components per drawings and manuals. You will fabricate, form, balance blades, apply coatings and assist other technicians in a range of structural tasks.

Candidate must have the required education, 3 years aviation maintenance, 2 years rotary wing experience, and be able to obtain security clearance. Must provide own tools and be willing to travel as needed.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
U.S. military technical school or specialized training course is desired; certification of education level is required.
Valid A&P license (optional).
Three years aviation maintenance experience, two years rotary wing experience, and two years on the assigned Mission Design Series within the last six years.
Valid driver’s license; own tools/toolbox required; travel per CBA; passport for international travel.

Responsibilities

Repair and replace structural components per drawings, blueprints, manuals and safety procedures.
Fabricate, modify, install structural parts and form metal using standard techniques.
Balance rotor blades and perform inspections and checks on components.
Apply primers/paints and corrosion control treatments on aircraft surfaces.
Prepare maintenance records and forms; assist technicians as needed.
