Job summary

Proper Hospitality is seeking a Director of Rooms for our Austin property to oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Guest Services. You will lead a high-performance Rooms Division, aligning department goals with the hotel’s business strategy to elevate guest experiences and profitability.

You will drive recruitment, training, and performance management while monitoring KPIs, guest feedback, and financial performance to ensure top-tier service and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in hotel operations, incl. at least 3 years in a leadership role within the Rooms Division.
• Proven track record in managing large teams and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of hospitality management systems (e.g., Opera, InforHMS), as well as property management and POS systems.
• In-depth understanding of budget management, financial reporting, and revenue optimization techniques.
• Experience in strategic planning, process improvement, and implementing guest satisfaction initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, and Laundry departments.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for all Rooms Division departments.
• Collaborate with other hotel department heads to enhance guest experience, maximize synergies, and drive profitability.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of all department heads and staff.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the Rooms Division and set KPIs.
• Monitor guest feedback and ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction.
• Manage budget and financial performance of the Rooms Division, including revenue forecasting and cost control.
• Analyze financial reports to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
• Optimize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR through pricing and service improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and brand standards.
