Job summary

Fairmont Austin is seeking a Rooms Controller to oversee inventory and support the Front Office leadership team. You will pre-block guest requests, coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering and Front Office, and ensure room readiness to maximize revenue.

The role requires prior front office experience, strong English skills, and meticulous attention to detail. You should be capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced luxury hotel environment and be a team player.

Qualifications

• Prior front office experience required.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
• Microsoft Windows applications knowledge; Opera PMS is a plus.
• Must be organized with strong attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Engineering and Front Office to ensure inventory is available to maximize revenue.
• Review Membership profiles to ensure guest preferences are met.
• Review same-day reservations to ensure benefits and preferences are applied.
• Manage room inventory, readiness and balancing to maximize revenue and upsells.
• Review Room Diary to balance room types across the portfolio.
• Coordinate and assign airlines based on contracted room types.
• Attend and review weekly resumes to set up front office for success.
• Manage front office infographic board for effective communication.
• Perform Front Desk Agent duties if needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
