Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Reliability Test Technician to join the Lab team, focusing on development and testing of autonomous platforms at system and component levels. You will design, execute, and document tests, break systems to improve reliability, and collaborate with a senior cross-functional group.

The role requires hands-on mechanical/electrical/robotics experience, CAD literacy, Linux testing, and the ability to work in a lab and field environments, including lifting up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, automotive, or robotics industries.
• Ability to interpret schematics and datasheets accurately.
• Experience operating environmental test chambers, vibration tables, and mechanical load frames.
• Experience soldering, crimping, and cable management in lab or shop environments.
• Proficiency with lab tools and equipment including DAQ systems, sensors, instruments, 3D printers, and common shop tools.
• Knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, Onshape) for 3D model navigation and design edits.
• Experience with Linux for robotic system testing and integration.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work on-site and in the field as needed.
• You’re able to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a hands-on lab/warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a tight knit team to execute tests and clearly document findings to support root cause analysis.
• Work with a variety of components including electronics, sensors, actuators, and structures.
• Document detailed test procedures and findings for future reference and repeatability.
• Maintain an orderly test lab environment to ensure organization and efficiency.
• Provide continuous feedback to team members to improve test specifications and systems.
• Support tests at outside test labs and field test sites.
