Job summary

DoorDash Labs is seeking an experienced technical operator to lead live testing, deployment, and validation of autonomous technologies. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and operations, ensuring safe deployment and actionable feedback.

You will collaborate across hardware, software, and business operations teams, develop testing processes, document results, and mentor junior engineers in debugging and reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of autonomous vehicle/robotics testing in live ops.
• Sound technical judgment and ability to troubleshoot complex system behaviors.
• Experience partnering with engineering teams to investigate issues and communicate findings.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience using Linux, GitHub, Jira, Jenkins for debugging and tracking.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee live testing across transport, deployment, and safety validation.
• Partner with hardware, software, and operations teams to validate product capabilities; mentor junior team members.
• Conduct and document complex tests, evaluate robot behavior, identify issues, and provide actionable feedback to engineering.
• Exercise technical judgment during live testing and determine when escalation is required.
• Develop and implement testing processes, protocols, and checklists to improve safety and reliability.
• Utilize internal tools to analyze logs, document findings, and track issues through resolution; mentor others.
• Generate reports identifying trends and providing strategic recommendations to partners.
