Job summary

DoorDash Labs seeks a Senior Reliability & Test Engineer to help develop and validate unmanned platforms at system and component levels. You will collaborate with EE, ME, and Autonomy teams to translate mission needs into reliable hardware and test methods.

The role requires hands-on development of test methods, fixtures, and rigorous validation across internal facilities and external labs, driving early detection of field issues and strong cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of professional involvement in reliability validation or hardware testing for robotics, unmanned platforms, or automated vehicle systems.
• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering.
• Experience with environmental chambers, vibration tables, DAQ systems, CAD and shop tools.
• Proficiency in Python for automating test procedures and understanding autonomy software and hardware.
• Strong communication and analytical skills to implement rigorous testing structures.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement validation strategies, using Python for automation with CAD/tools to create test fixtures and hardware rigs.
• Oversee experimental execution across facilities and labs, handling vibration tables, environmental chambers, DAQ systems, and IP testing.
• Translate reliability requirements into metrics for mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems; lead FMEA/FTA sessions.
• Lead forensic investigations into hardware failures via FRACAS and drive design iterations.
• Collaborate with autonomy and engineering teams to validate sensor performance, software reliability, and HIL environments.
