Job summary

Formic Technologies is seeking a Robotics Field Service Technician to join our Fleet Operations team. This hands-on role delivers preventive maintenance, directed repairs, and on-site support in uptime-critical environments, working closely with Engineering and senior staff.

You will document work, follow safety protocols, and help improve fleet reliability across customer facilities. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in field service for robotic or automation systems, strong troubleshooting

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on field service or maintenance experience in robotic/industrial automation
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, PLC, or robotic control
• Ability to read electrical diagrams, wiring diagrams and pneumatic drawings
• Experience using CMMS to track maintenance activity
• Willingness to travel locally up to 80% and overnight up to 50%
• Clear written and verbal communication for service documentation
• Safety-focused, disciplined field execution with checklist-driven tasks
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions with minimal oversight

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic cells following checklists
• Perform directed corrective maintenance and repairs
• Respond to on-site service calls and troubleshoot with engineering
• Provide hands-on technical support to operators and maintenance teams
• Log service activity and spare part needs in CMMS
• Coordinate day-to-day logistics with customers and internal stakeholders
• Monitor system performance and report anomalies to engineering
• Document service work and follow-up actions clearly
• Flag recurring issues to engineering for investigation
• Build trust with plant personnel and adhere to safety standards
• Support RCA sessions, audits and continuous improvement initiatives
