Job summary

Formic Technologies is seeking a Robotics Field Service Technician to join our Fleet Operations team in the United States. You will perform preventive maintenance, execute repairs, and support customer facilities in uptime-critical environments.

You will work closely with Engineering and senior field staff, documenting work, following safety standards, and traveling up to 80% with some overnight stays. This hands-on role focuses on reliability and customer satisfaction across Formic’s robotic

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on field service or maintenance experience in robotics/industrial automation.
• Strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, PLC, or robotic control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings.
• Experience using CMMS to track maintenance activity.
• Comfortable with local travel up to 80% and overnight travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells following established checklists and procedures.
• Carry out directed corrective maintenance and repairs as assigned by engineering or senior technicians.
• Respond to on-site service calls and follow structured troubleshooting steps; escalate complex issues.
• Provide hands-on technical support to customer operators and maintenance teams.
• Log service activity, asset updates, and spare part requirements in CMMS systems.
• Coordinate day-to-day logistics with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor system performance and report anomalies to engineering.
• Document service work and follow-up actions clearly and precisely.
• Flag recurring issues to engineering for investigation.
• Build professional relationships with plant managers and site personnel.
