Job summary

Formic is seeking a Robotics Field Service Technician to join our Fleet Operations team. You will perform preventive maintenance, directed repairs, and represent Formic at customer sites in uptime-critical environments.

You will collaborate with engineering, log service activity in CMMS, and travel locally up to 80% with overnight stays up to 50%. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, disciplined execution, and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on field service or maintenance experience with robotic/industrial automation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and pneumatic drawings.
• Experience using CMMS to track maintenance activity.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% locally and overnight up to 50%.
• Strong written and verbal communication for structured service documentation.
• Commitment to safety and disciplined field execution.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic manufacturing cells using established checklists.
• Perform directed corrective maintenance and repairs as assigned by engineering or senior technicians.
• Respond to on-site service calls, troubleshoot, and escalate complex issues to engineering.
• Provide hands-on technical support to customer operators and maintenance teams.
• Log service activity and spare part requirements in CMMS systems.
• Follow field schedules and coordinate day-to-day logistics with customers and stakeholders.
• Monitor system performance and report anomalies to engineering.
• Document service work and follow-up actions with clarity and precision.
• Flag recurring issues to engineering for further investigation.
• Build professional relationships with plant personnel and ensure safety compliance.
