Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the Hugo robotic-assisted surgery platform. The role requires serving as the primary technical partner for healthcare customers, handling installation, maintenance, repair, and on-site training to ensure system reliability in clinical environments.

Remote, customer-facing position with up to 75% travel within a defined US territory. Strong communication skills in English and prior field service experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4+ years in clinical field service or medical device service.
• Experience installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing complex equipment or integrated systems.
• Experience supporting customers in a field-based technical service environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and upgrade medical equipment and integrated systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, software, and system-level issues to minimize downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and system performance evaluations.
• Execute equipment repairs, modifications, and engineering change implementations.
• Provide technical guidance and operational training to clinical and customer support teams.
• Document service activities, technical findings, and corrective actions accurately.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical support teams to resolve complex customer challenges.
• Build trusted relationships with customers through responsive and professional service.
